IWC Pilot’s watch Mark XVIII Special Edition

The IWC pilot’s watch Mark XVIII is one of our favourite IWC watch models. So it’s always a pleasure to see them present a special edition of this model. This time they did so for the 2018 edition of the Laureus World Sports Awards in Monaco. With a black ceramic case and blue sunburst dial this watch sure looks good. The official name is a bit on the long side as we’ve seen before but it sure is a stunning combo. Have a look at the IWC Pilot’s Watch Mark XVIII Edition “Laureus Sport for Good Foundation”.

IWC Pilot’s watch Mark XVIII Special Edition

The Pilot’s Watch Mark XVIII Edition “Laureus Sport for Good Foundation” has a 41-millimetre black ceramic case. Available as a limited edition of 1,500 individually numbered watches. Featuring the typical blue dial which is the signature for the IWC Laureus special editions. Thanks to the luminescent coating, the black hands can easily be read in all conditions. The automatic movement is guarded by a soft-iron inner case top protect it against magnetic fields. As seen on the Pilot’s watches the glass is secured against sudden drops in air pressure. Matching the black case it comes with an embossed black calfskin strap.

Like every Laureus special edition you will find an engraving of the winning entry of the drawing competition that IWC organizes each year. The theme for 2017 was “Time to Be Healthy”. Out of over a 1,000 contestants the jury selected 11-year-old Ana Claudia’s drawing . Ana participates in a project of Instituto Reação in Brazil. This organization helps improving living conditions of Brazilian children and adolescents through education and sport. In particular they relies on judo to convey values such as respect, discipline and determination. With a price tag of 6.300 Euro, part of the proceeds from sales will go towards the support of Laureus Sport for Good.
