  • Simply awesome! That’s all I can say about this watch.

But then I am sure that the owner will never carry this ultra-heavyweight watch (almost 1 Kg) with him.

You did not mention the price, I guess it will be around $30 Million or more.

2,800 parts in a watch! Unbelievable!!!

  • Alex, what a great time to be alive! This is quite an astonishing feat. I’m wondering if you could elaborate the difference between the spheriotourbillion and the “tri-axial”. Would you say similar components? They sure power-up the excitement! This is so cool to see the Antikythera calander component. I love the mysterious “client” bespoke atelier back-story. What fun! The time travel and the chime “mute” functions are genius. Super cool!

  • Several of us that read your blog have asked for the likely price. As this is the most complex watch in the world, and only one. If this watch was put up for sale in a action in Geneva, the price will most likely fetch around 24 million Swiss Francs based on sale of Patek Henry Grave pocket watch last year in Geneva.

  • As Bart Simpson says, Ay caramba Batsman!

A stunning and almost impossible to believe accomplishment. I’m normally not easily impressed but this does! Price? Why bother asking. I could never afford one. If they make more they will be in the seven digits plus category. It strikes me more as a demonstration of technical prowess than and actual product prototype, but there isn’t anything wrong with the later.

Alexander, I do have to ask though, how does one go about setting the thing?

If you have to set it all time keeping complications individually, one could spend an entire life setting it. (lol)

    • I don’t have a price yet, I will let you know a.s.a.p. Concerning setting the watch, this is for sure quite a task, but if you own such a watch it must be like having sex with it 🙂

      • That is a good way to look at it.

I’m sure that it would falls in the category of both pleasure and pain, well maybe frustration. 🙂

  • What is the estimated price and delivery time with 50% depositum.

What is the weight this Swiss lady.

Is this most complex watch in the world.

I am a mechanical engineer, it is very impressive to get 2800 parts to work as one system.

  • Just incredible!! Amazing display of horological creativity and engineering, and a beautiful piece at that!

  • I just had time to skim through the information, so I may have missed it. Do you know the number of parts that go in to making this? Thanks.

  • Quite an accomplishment indeed! But all the Jews I know never buy anything more expensive than a Casio plastic LCD quartz watch. They get flyers in the mail from the congregation about religious goings on. Of course there may be a gentile or two interested in this sort of thing.
All this stuff about the phases of the moon, seasons, etc. have to do with travel and hunting… good to know in the time before trains. You can travel faster at night if the moon is shining and daylight hunting is better when the moon is dark the night before.
Having said all that I agree there isn’t much more a mechanical watch can do. The only thing I can think of is for VC to come out with an Islamic version.

    • I can’t help it but I find your comment re. the watch choices of the jews you know quite abusive. I guess it is needless to say, and this outstanding watch is probably the best proof, that Jewish people are also willing to splash out on high-end watches just as other people of different religions…

      • I am sorry you found my remark offensive that wasn’t my intent. It wasn’t meant as a generic remark either. I don’t know that many Jews to be honest. The Jews I do know are just not interested in haut horologie. They don’t buy high end cars either. But they buy their wives nice jewelry from time to time, live in beautiful homes and send their children to top schools. When I show them my WOTD they just show me their Casio and tell me how well it keeps time and why would I spend $10K for a stupid watch. They splash out on travel for themselves and children.
However when one of their children has a special occasion I give the celebrant a nice watch.
        Again please accept my apologies.
