The Longines RailRoad

Longines emphasizes its long tradition as a designer of railroad watches and reissues a timepiece from the 1960s. The 40-mm diameter steel case houses the L888.2 automatic winding calibre, produced exclusively for Longines. The back of this model shows an engraving inspired from the original decorations that adorned the pocket watches designed for railway companies in the 1920s.

The dial shows the time from “0” to “23”. That´s the way time is indicated by the military and all other official authorities, airlines, … when it comes to read the time in a way so there is no mistake possible. the day starts with 0:01 and ends with 23:59 …

The Longines Heritage 1918

Longines presents a honey-coloured model dating from 1918. Blued steel and honey-coloured varnish impart character to hands that stand out on a white-lacquered polished dial to mark the hours and minutes on this reissued model, while the small second hand at 6 o’clock contrasts by its blue colour specific to the brand. The case measures 41 mm, it houses an L615 automatic winding mechanical calibre. To complete the set, a honey-coloured alligator strap echoes the dominant colour of the dial.
