Baselworld 2016: Rolex Explorer

Rolex Explorer

The Rolex Explorer is not new, but Rolex finally corrected something I always critisised at the former version…

All of you who either own an “old” 39 mm Rolex Explorer or know how this watch looks like for sure noticed that the minute hand simply was to short. The new 2016 Explorer got a new minute hand exactly in the length as it should be. If you look you will see that the minute hand now touches the so called minuterie (the minute circle) of the dial and this is how it should be.

Well done Rolex!

I exactly told them this today!

Look how harmonic this dial now is!

  • Boring. Very boring. Heritage is good, but isn’t it time for Rolex to come up with something new?

  • The longer minute’s hand looks perfect for the 2016 version of Rolex Explorer.

Is it still 39-mm or it has become larger?

  • If asked I wonder if Rolex will replace the short hand for this one when the older Explorers are serviced?
