I just learned that the Aldo Magada will become the new Zenith CEO. Actually he is the international sales director of Breitling. Her was chosen by Jean-Claude Biver and he in the past worked with Mr. Biver. I will come up with more details as soon they are available.

Aldo Magada appointed President & CEO of Zenith

Paris, France, May 2nd, 2014 – LVMH announces the appointment of Aldo Magada as President and CEO of Zenith. He takes over from Jean-Frédéric Dufour who has recently been appointed General Manager outside the Group.

Jean-Claude Biver, President of the Watches Division of LVMH, is firmly convinced that Aldo’s significant experience in the watch-making industry, combined with his proven-track record in product development and strategy as well as his in-depth knowledge of manufactures will be instrumental to develop Zenith. Aldo Madaga will take up his new duties on July 1st, 2014.

A recognized player in the Watches industry

Aldo Magada, a Swiss citizen born in 1958, is married, and has two children. He grew up in Switzerland and graduated from the University of Lausanne in 1981 and from the University of La Jolla in San Diego, California in 1982. Aldo Magada started his career in sales at Vifor, a para-pharmaceutical company.

In 1984, Aldo joined the watches industry at Swatch and then held positions with increasing responsibilities for Piaget and Omega where he was Product Director and Marketing Director alongside Jean-Claude Biver between 1994 and 1998. In 2000, he became President of Gucci Time Pieces. Between 2002 and 2009, he led Technomarine, Reuge and Badollet, before founding a consulting firm, earning recognition and trust of numerous key players in the watches industry. Since 2010, he has been International Sales & Business Development Director at Breitling.

During his nearly 30 years of experience mainly in the watch-making industry, Aldo Magada has demonstrated his instrumental role in Brand development and repositioning. As Jean-Claude Biver highlights, Aldo will ensure a continuous success for Zenith over the coming years.

Paris, France, 2 Mai 2014 – LVMH annonce la nomination de Aldo Magada au poste de Président-CEO de Zenith. Il remplace Jean-Frédéric Dufour qui vient de prendre des fonctions de Direction Générale hors du Groupe.

Jean-Claude Biver, Président de la Division Montres, se dit fermement convaincu que l’expérience significative de l’industrie horlogère de Aldo Magada, alliée à une solide expertise en développement produits et stratégie ainsi que sa connaissance approfondie de la manufacture contribueront fortement au développement de Zenith. Un acteur reconnu de l’industrie horlogère

De nationalité Suisse, marié et père de deux enfants, Aldo Magada est né en 1958. Il a grandi en Suisse et a été diplômé de l’Université de Lausanne en 1981 puis de l’Université de La Jolla à San Diego, Californie en 1982. Aldo a débuté sa carrière dans la vente chez Vifor, entreprise de parapharmacie.

En 1984, Aldo a rejoint l’industrie horlogère au sein du Swatch Group, puis il a tenu des fonctions aux responsabilités croissantes chez Piaget et Omega, dont il fut Directeur Produit et Directeur Marketing entre 1994 et 1998 aux côtés de Jean-Claude Biver. En 2000, il devenait Président de Gucci Time Pieces. Entre 2002 et 2009, il a dirigé Technomarine, Reuge et Badollet, avant de créer une société de consulting, acquérant ainsi la confiance et la reconnaissance de nombreux acteurs clés de l’industrie horlogère. Depuis 2010, il est Directeur International des Ventes et Business Développement de Breitling.

Au cours de près de 30 années principalement dédiées à l’industrie horlogère, Aldo Magada a joué un rôle significatif en matière de repositionnement et de développement de marques. Comme le souligne Jean-Claude Biver, Aldo va assurer le succès de Zenith dans les années à venir.
