IWC Schaffhausen Portofino Hand-Wound Monopusher (Ref. IW515103 / IW515104)

IWC Schaffhausen Portofino Hand-Wound Monopusher

IWC presents its first-ever single push-button chronograph. With this new complication the manufacture adds a second in-house chronograph to its Portofino line. Click on “read more” to discover the timepiece …

The IWC Portofino Hand-Wound Monopusher (Ref. IW515103 / IW515104) is a single push-button stopwatch that measures time for up to 60 minutes. The chronograph push-button is integrated in the crown. Repeatedly pressing the single, multifunctional push-button starts, stops and resets the chronograph. When the button is pushed for the third time, all the chronograph displays return to zero.

The new movement in the IWC Portofino Hand-Wound Monopusher is an addition to IWC’s in-house movements and the range. The 59360 calibre is an offshoot of the 59000-movement family with the feature of a chronograph mechanism built into the movements.

One can look forward to a 192-hour movement, which, when fully wound, will run accurately for eight whole days before automatically stopping. The amount of energy remaining is displayed on the power reserve display on the dial between “8 o’clock” and “9 o’clock”. The sub-dial at “12 o’clock” displays the number of minutes recorded by the chronograph while the seconds can be read off on the central hand. Together with the small-seconds sub-dial at “6 o’clock” and the date display at “3 o’clock” it results in a well-proportioned dial design.

Dear Alexander, I think that this is the only in-house chronograph available in the Portofino line, the other chronograph is powered by a ETA/Valjoux movement, but you can check it.

I prefer the watch with slate coloured dial in white gold, can you please tell us its price?

I think only you provide us with XL pictures and I must admit that I love those XL pictures, thanks a lot!

    Keep it up!

Attractive watch and has one of the most useful complications, imho, that being a power reserve. Very nice.
