NEW! What a sensation! Nomos Glashütte Lambda and Nomos Glashütte Lux. Two new timepieces powered by two new, very, very sophisticated in-house produced calibers.

Nomos Lambda

One would not believe that this is a Nomos! Just stunning! Have a look and discover the next big step forward of the privately owned manufacturer in Glashütte / Saxony / Germany.

Until today there was an embargo on these pictures. Now, some minutes after midnight I was finally able to put the two watches online.

!!! You have to look twice to believe that this is a Nomos caliber. It looks pretty much like one being done by some other big and well-known manufacturer in Glashütte !!!

I’m trying so so hard to like this. It has its minimalist charm but I fear I may fall asleep trying to read the time. I could frame it and put it on my wall but never seriously wear it.

Great looking watch! Lambda has unique minimalist style dial but a date window would be better. The Lux blue outer ring dial is very nice.

I didn’t realize the top dial on the Lambda was a power reserve until I enlarged one of the pictures. Very, very nice, I think that a power reserve complication is one of the more useful complications there is. It’s especially useful when you’re wearing 2-3 watches a week. I was never really a big fan of this brand, but judging from what I’ve seen of this year’s offerings, that may change depending on prices.

Thank you for the preview. I really like the Lambda and what I love about it is the simplicity and of the design plus the beautiful adornment on the movement. 84 hours is excellent reserve the power reserve indicator is possibly the best I have seen. It is so much nicer than the little hand Lange have. It is large and yet unobtrusive. Size please?

Both have de distinct seal of Glashütte. Please watchmakers, no more “concept” watches. This is the way.
    Thanks Alexander.

I think that this is a new beguining for NOMOS…
NOMOS Is now a new hi-end watch, of the best cuality you can find.
Can be compared their beauty to Jaeger or Lange.
NOMOS is now to me “Un petite Lange”.
    Thankyou for sharing Mr. Linz!!!

    Alexander you said it, stunning.

My favorite is the Lux with solid white face. What an attractive watch. 🙂

    Alexander,
Thanks for posting. I like both models.
Personally I do not think that the Lambda is to close to Lange. Lange has a clear design as well, but it looks much heavier.

The prices (Lux 14.800€, Lambda 12.800 and 13.800€ here in Germany) are out of my range, so I have to look for one of the Wempe Tonneaus with nearly the same movement…

    Alexander,
As patrick wrote, at the first glance, i thought it A Lange and Sohne. Simple, nice, and innovative. Like it.
    Good job Alex.

Wow – Nomos going upmarket! I have a Tangomat which I love, but suspect these watches will be priced on a much higher level.

  11. says: Edwin Tschopp

Not just that what I expected to see from Nomos: too golden for me but very interesting watches indeed. I hope there will be steel versions at fair prices.

Also wanted to mention– in addition to the Lange influence– the Lambda slightly resembles Jaquet Droz with the “8” that is created with the power reserve and seconds hand.

I think I prefer the Lux a little more, but they both look great. Nice to see the in-house caliber.

  14. says: PATRICK

Wow! yes it looks like Lange but also I noticed the build the caliber exactly to match the watch shape and fill the whole space. Very good indeed. I qite like the simplicity of the lux even if its power reserve may be less? Do we have any idea yet of the price?
