This is a brief outlook for the Baselworld 2013. I invite you to discover my first Basel preview.

Without going into details I want to show what I have already on stock. All these watches are just teasers! Please do not think this is it …

The brands like to distribute the information step by step and the real novelties often are only shown at the “Baselworld” show. This is by the way a first choice I made, some brands may be missing and some information I may not have yet.

So this is a good reason for you to come back to my blog as often as possible. Only then you will know what is going on … 🙂

Alpine Genève will launch a new “Sailing Yachttimer” equipped with an in-house developed calibre.

Breguet will show the “Type XXII” 10 Hz-chronograph (the watch balance makes 72.000 vibrations per hour) with fly-back function in a new red gold case.

Chopard will unveil its “Superfast” models now in a steel case. In a red gold case they have been presented end of last year. All these watches have new Chopard in-house calibres manufactured at “Fleurier Ebauches” in Fleurier. I will let you discover the new Chopard manufacture in a while here on my blog. Outstanding, I can tell you!

Omega will extend the “Ladymatic” collection with different models with colorful dials. The “Constellation Sedna” is made out of a new gold alloy that belongs exclusively to Omega.

Tissot plans to unveil for its birthday a new world timer called “Heritage Navigator 160th Anniversary”.

Zenith has already unveiled the new “Captain Winsor Annual Calendar” parallel to the SIHH in Geneva. But this will also be a Basel 2013 novelty for Zenith.

  • Hello,

Nice blog and thanks for the previews. Any news about Breitling? I heard they would be presenting a new Emergency…

  • Any news on Blancpain’s Fifty Fathoms? It is the 60th anniversary this year after all. Wonder whether they launch a limited edition o the current design, or whether there is a smaller housing coming up. Their boutiques apparently know but don’t tell. Would be great to know if you have any insight!! Thank you for the great blog!

  • I like the Zenith is has an understated elegance to it that is very nice… and the world timer from Frederique Constant is also of interest.

I am looking forward to reading more about Basel World 2013 when you start uploading to your blog – thanks!

  • Liked your preview of the new Rado D star, never thought a ceramic chrono could look so good. Any more ceramic pieces?

  • Thank you Alexander for this early preview – any news on what Rolex might be presenting at Basel 2013?

Really hope they have some good stuff this year..any snippets/rumours that you’ve heard would be good to know…

Execellent blog by the way…great work!

    • Moo, the Daytona celebrates its 50 years, Rolex just entered the Formula 1 as the new timekeeper and by delivering the official Formula 1 watch, so I personally assume that we will see a new Daytona this year… But, who knows? Nothing will be official before the opening of BASELWORLD, since Rolex never communicates in advance…

  • Sight of Breguet “Type XXII” made my day. Design is balanced and deliberated, not to mention the 10.000 Hz heart beating inside. Thank you Mr. Alexander for familiarizing me with that piece of art.

  • Thanks for the brief review sir.. 🙂 Btw, is there any outlook for hamilton watches?

  • Thanks for the lovely pictures of some of my favourite brands e.g. Breguet, Chopard, Omega and Zenith!
