Pre-Baselworld 2014: A new Villeret model by Blancpain.

Blancpain - Villeret Collection Pre-Basel 2014 Ref: 6630-3631-55B

The Blancpain Villeret 2014 is a self-winding three-hand watch with date display, featuring a remarkably understated Grand Feu enamel dial.

Grand Feu enamel, this magnificently stable material that maintains its radiance indefinitely is particularly suited to adorning a watch with such a classic aesthetic. Crafting it involves applying several successive layers of enamel that are fired at temperatures of over 1000° C. The Grand Feu enamel dial gives a subtle nod to tradition by revealing the tone-on-tone “JB” logo engraved between the numerals IV and V, VII and VIII. This is the secret signature with which enamellists historically initialled their works. The new Villeret 2014 model is powered by the Blancpain in-house Calibre 1335 with a remarkable 8-day power reserve. The sapphire crystal case-back provides an opportunity to admire the delicate interplay of its decorative effects, featuring Côtes de Genève on the movement bridges and a honeycomb pattern on the oscillating weight.

What a beautiful watch! Clean styling and timeless in it’s simplicity, this represents the essence of a fine Swiss dress watch.

The hour and minute hand should be much wider, otherwise the seconds hand could be mistaken for the minute hand

Thank you very much for the information.

Now I only have to decide between this one and the JLC Master Ultra Thin Grand Feu. If the Blancpain is less than 35K$ then it is a candidate.

This looks like a fabulous watch, but then I have always loved Blancpain watches!

    Looking forward to Baselworld 2014!!!

Yes to the magnificent dial. Not to the letter at the tail of the sweep second. For me is a manía that many manufacturers adopted. Is a lack of distinction and fineness.
    Thank you and best regards.

    Good and Honorable Sir,

Whenever you have the information, please also state the price of watches you present here. It would help me to know which ones are affordable to me, that I am attracted to and may wish to purchase.

    Thank You,

    1. David, I simply do not have the price yet, it is a watch that will officially be presented in March in Basel. I am sorry for the inconvinience I might cause and I promise you I will post it a.s.a.p.

I agree, Paco. Perfectly proportioned. Eight days power reserve automatic is just fabulous. Hope that it’s about 38-40 mm wide and less than 10 mm thick.
