After presenting you my top 10 chronographs, my top Rolex and Omega watch of the year 2014, I want to show you my top 10 dress watches. Click on “read more” to see my choice…
First I have to mention again that this is an alphabetic listing and not a ranking. The watches shown here are my very personal favourites of the year 2014. Of course not all the different models presented this year can be listed and of course not all qualify to be mentioned here.
Yes, THESE ARE SIMPLY MY TOP 10, no jury has voted, no one has whispered something into my ears (not even Nick Hayek 🙂 ), and no one has paid me any money to get listed here.
If you wish to get more information about one of the watches presented now, please use the search function of my blog. I have been reporting about all of them during the last eleven months and you will find many more pictures and additional technical information of course.
I would like to ask you to give me your personal feedback. Which elegant timepiece presented in 2014 did you like the most? Please use the comment function to let us all know hat you think! Thanks!
In the next days more Top 10 charts will follow, so stay tuned and don´t touch that dial…
You may click on the pictures to enlarge them and you will have to click through the ten pages of my alphabetical presentation to see all my Top 10 Dress Watches 2014…
I am sure you agree: Each deserves its own page!
A. Lange & Söhne Grand Lange 1 Moonphase
The Lange 1 celebrates its 20th anniversary this year and this new 41 mm Grand Lange 1 Moonphase blew my mind. It is such a gorgeous and elegant timepiece! One picture says more than 1000 words. But at A. Lange & Söhne fascination continues when you turn a watch around. The calibre L095.3 is the next beauty that has to be mentioned here. That’s a must-have-timepiece if you can afford it, no matter in what case material offered.

Blancpain Villeret 8 Jours really appeals to me with the Montblanc a close second-place.
from within your list I would choose the Lange as my first choice. Outside of your list I would select the Patek 5275P.
Nice selections overall. Favorites for me the Lange, Piaget, Rolex, JLC. Hublot also and amazing looking watch in person. Monblanc is too derivative for me to endorse, sorry.
Dear Alexander, i love those top ten list cause it gives me a new insight in this wonderfull watch world. I like the jlc, rolex and omega the most. Next time a submariner list? Maybe a list of best vintage watches? Regards.
For me;
Lange – always one of my favorites
Omega – Just very classy
Habring – nice and clean inside and out
Bel servizio , personalmente preferisco i solo tempo senza tante complicazioni. Quindi cito Blancpain poi Omega poi Jaeger-le Coultree Rolex
First choice: Hublot
Second choice:Lange
Third choice: Piaget
Notice how except for the Piaget I picked watches that have a power reserve indicator. I picked the Hublot over the Lange because I liked the dark color better whereas the Lange was light colored. The Piaget I picked because it looked different from the other watches, I don’t like ordinary looking watches.
Lange 1 first, followed by Hublot (I like small seconds with indexes), but all this beautiful collection, I would take home the Omega.
Highlights also include the Montblanc.
Surely a dress watch can have a bracelet made of precious metal or stainless steel.
Nice selection.
For me it is ALS, JLC, Omega, Piaget and Rolex.
Thank you Alexander, I was waiting for this list!
I’ll take the JLC MUT please (the Jubilee edition)
Goog Sir,
The Frederique Constant Slimline Moonphase is, in my mind, a winner of a dress watch on a design and execution par with your choices as well.
Happy New Year to You and Yours!

If this a womens watch, it’s beautiful.
If it’s a man’s watch, it’s beautiful but a little to small for me.
The Meistersinger is really cool. But I’ll take the Hublot.
Some nice selections… For me, no one does dress watches better than Lange.
