We’ve had our hands on Victorinox watches before and they come at a great price quality level. Yet since the launch of the first I.N.O.X. model in 2014, the mechanical version was eagerly anticipated. Their collection was just waiting for the addition of a calibre addition. After the proper R&D they launched the Victorinox I.N.O.X. Mechanical during Baselworld recently.
Victorinox I.N.O.X. Mechanical
At first sight, nothing distinguishes the quartz model from its mechanical version. They come with identical style, proportions and features. Very functional with the most basic three hands and the addition of a date window. However if you have a look at the back side of the watch a transparent back case show the mechanism behind it. Powered by the ETA 2824-1 this watch has a reliable movement that fits well within it’s price category. The rotor is finished with a Victorinox logo and the usual information.
Another nice feature is the guilloché inspired dial which is made in the style of the Swiss officer’s Knife. This is what makes the design stand out even more. And you will find the term ‘automatic’ on the lower front side of the dial. The Victorinox I.N.O.X. signature bezel has been coated. This is done to make it even more resistant to wear and tear keeping the shine intact for longer.
Wooden strap
Something that was new to us was the mixed use of leather and real wood for the strap. Of course there are bracelets and watches made from wood entirely. Yet the combination is an interesting one that also looks pretty amazing.
We are curious to see how the bracelets will look after longer periods of wear. For suer an unexpected innovation with a unique, first of its kind, material combination which you don’t expect. This innovation also fits well with Victorinox’s environmental commitments.
